Breast Cancer Knitting Charity
A new knitting charity project for breast cancer has been started on the Internet. The Think Pink Challenge is charity knitting challenge to support breast cancer awareness.
Started by Sydney Tyler Thomas of Soulful Knitting Ministries, the goal is to collect 1000 knitted or crocheted scarves by September 2006 to be given to women facing breast cancer. The scarves will be distributed in October for Breast Awareness month.
To participate, knit or crochet at least one pink scarf in a pattern of your choice. You may use any yarn you prefer.
Then send the scarves to Syndey. She will arrange to have them sent to the American Cancer Society.

The Think Pink Challenge website.

World Wide Knit In Public Day
World Wide Knit In Public Day - June 10,2006
The second annual World Wide Knit in Public Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2006. This world wide knitting event was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes as a way for knitters to take pride in their knitting.
By knitting in public, either alone or with a group, at a park or in a coffee house, knitters will know that they are not alone because other knitters will be doing the same thing world-wide on the same day.
Danielle writes, "This is a way to help knitters feel good about their hobby, and maybe introduce more people to the craft."
Knitters can register their groups or themselves on the website in order to find other knitters to knit with.
So get out your pointy sticks and some yarn and show your knitting pride!
For more information, go to the
World Wide Knit In Public website.
